And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
The faith of the two blind men in the opening Scripture began with a cry unto the Lord, saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us”. They started out with a cry of faith. They wanted their sight restored, so they cried out to the Lord for help. The desire of their heart was not locked up or locked down within them. They gave expression to it with a cry. They prayed their desire out loud. Many a times, a faith journey begins with a strong desire consistent with the Word that is birthed through prayer. Anytime there is a desire in your heart for something, the first thing to do is not to look for a scripture that you think best suits that desire or request. You need to first and foremost go to God in prayers. When you cry to God in prayer, the light regarding the right or appropriate Scripture comes to you, then the true journey of faith begins. You now have what to stand upon in faith regarding your heart desire. Even when you have a written Word for your desire, it is imperative to pray up your desire to God until your specific word comes. In the place of prayers, you will birth the will of God concerning your desire. Until your rhema (specific word from God spoken to your heart) comes, you don’t stop crying out unto God regarding that specific desire.
The next thing to do is to seek guidance. You need a guide to lead you to that rhema-word from the Lord. First, you need a guide in the person of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. The Spirit of God will guide you to the particular rhema or Scripture that you need to hinge your faith on. Secondly, anointed men or women sent by God to shed light on the Word via preaching and teaching of the Word. You need somebody to say something that will connect you to the answer you are looking for. At times, you need to hook up with people whose prayers God has answered in order to connect with your rhema. You need to ask questions and seek answers regarding receiving a specific Word from the Lord about that desire. Sometimes, you get that Word through anointed messages (audio and video), through books, etc. There are guides in books, in anointed preachers, in preached messages, in words of exhortation, in your anointed friends, etc. You just need to know specifics per time with the help of the Holy Spirit to navigate through life as you seek to have your deepest heart desires met. Understand that as a child of God, as you renew your mind to the Word, your desires will be God-inspired. Yield yourself to the Spirit of God to help you and guide you to your desired answers in life.
My Solid Front (Confession):
Father, I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who is alive and at work in me at all times. I declare that my heart is open to the leading of the Spirit and as a result, I make Spirit-initiated decisions today and always in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
