And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
In our opening verse, the Lord told a parable to the end that we ought always to pray, and not to faint. Understand that something we ought to do is very important, it cannot wait for other things; it’s a priority. The Lord Jesus Christ taught that prayer is a thing of importance, not of convenience. We ought to prioritize prayer. Prayer is an awesome and a noble privilege given to us to fellowship with God. Through prayer, our spirits interact with God’s Spirit in such a beautiful way such that we are in sync with God regarding His will and plan for us. In that beautiful harmony, the power of God, the grace of God, the glory of God, the awesome wisdom of God, and all the substance of His perfection are poured into us and are poured out through us to bless others. Through prayer, the Spirit of God works in us a special work that nothing and no one can accomplish. In the place of prayer, the principles of oneness or fellowship with God are mastered beyond textbook or classroom knowledge. There is a heavenly beautiful symphony and harmony with God which is beyond this world that you come into through prayer. It frees you from the cares of this world.
When you let prayer have you, the sweet spirit of prayer will come upon you and prayer will be a beautiful delight. In Acts 6:4 the apostles said, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.” Don’t wait for prayer to have you. Give yourself to prayer. Let prayer have you. How? Have a prayer time that you cannot compromise for the world. Have a prayer place that facilitates devotion to God. Pray consistently, non-stop, continually, fervently and diligently. Make an importance of prayer; make a priority of prayer! In Mark 1:35, the Word tells us, “And in the morning, (Jesus) rising up a great while before day, went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” Understand that life is spiritual and that everything happens first in the spirit realm before they take form in the physical realm. Through prayer, you have the privilege under God to shape your life’s situations according to the Word. You can speak the Word and compel nature to deliver according to what has been written concerning you. Your spirit is made contrite and pliable through the beautiful spirit of prayer. That’s the secret of sensitivity to the Holy Spirit!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus, I seek the Lord with all my heart, with intense desire and unquenchable passion. I declare that I am given to prayer. As the light of God’s Word comes to me, I plough it in the place of prayers, bowing my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and I become one with the Word and my experiences align with this reality in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
