For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Devotion to God is the secret to accessing and enjoying all the blessings we have been blessed with in Christ. Devotion is not an accident; it is the result of a scheduled lifestyle, an organized way of living. It is important that you consciously organize your life in such a way that devotion to God flows uninterrupted. You structure your life to facilitate devotion to God. The Word tells us that all things, which includes devotion to God, must be done decently and in order. Prioritizing the things of God is the beginning of developing a life of devotion to God. You must put God first, because He is First; He is Alpha, the beginning. As a believer, you must give God first place in your life. Understand that your life solely depends on God. Understand that your devotion runs your life. When you make God your only devotion, He runs your life unto fulfilment of His perfect plan for you. Don’t let other things apart from God run your life. The Word tells us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the good things of life shall be added unto us. Devotion to God is the sincere and passionate priority of the child of God. One of the ways to be devoted to God is through prayers and fasting.
True devotion to God is not void of a consistent life of prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting facilitates devotion to God. We are in a very busy world where everything is moving very fast. There are so many things to attend to at once, many things are calling for our attention. We seem to be overwhelmed by so many businesses, seeking to become our devotion. If we are not careful to prioritize, we may lose grip of our sweet devotion to God. We must never allow that to happen to us. That is why we must schedule our lives in such a way that prayer and fasting is a vital part of our lives. We must never allow anything to break the rhythm of devotion to God. We must prioritize by separating the urgent from the important. Our sense of priority which rules our devotion to God must never be staggered at all. Our devotion determines our spirituality. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. The difference between a carnal and a spiritual man is the devotion of their minds. Devotion mindedness. What you do with your mind determines your devotion, and your devotion in turn determines what you do with your mind. Prioritize God and make Him your only affection and devotion, and your life will be blessed for it!
