1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Today’s opening Scripture reveals the secret place of the Most High as a place of revelation. It is a place of intimacy with God, a place of trust and intimate relationship with God where you know His Name, that the Name of the Lord is a strong tower, you know that nothing can defeat that Name. You know that your confidence is in that Name because You know that Name. The secret place is a place where you call upon the Name of the Lord, trusting absolutely in Him and you are rest assured that God will respond to you. Nothing moves you because you know assuredly that you dwell under the shadow of the Almighty God. Hallelujah!
The Bible tells us that the spiritual Rock from which the children of Israel drank and that followed them in the wilderness was Christ (1 Corinthians 10:4). That rock sustained them in the wilderness. They were thirsty and water came out of the Rock for them to drink. Christ was that Rock from which they drank and that followed them. Christ was that moving Rock that followed them. Wow, amazing, isn’t it? Christ, the Rock, followed them, and they drank from that Rock; but they were not living inside the Rock; they were not in union or oneness with that Rock, though they were sustained by the Rock. But for the believer in Christ Jesus, it’s a different ball game. We are in the Rock! Hallelujah! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “if any man is in Christ (the Rock), he is a new creature …,” speaking of the new creation. The moment you got born again, you came into the Rock. In Christ, you are in the refuge or fortress of God; He is our shield and defence. You have come into the secret place of the Most High God; you are under the shadow of the Almighty! You need to believe it and act like it is true, because it is true!
Absolute faith in God is how to dwell or abide in the Rock vitally and experientially. Every child of God is in the Rock: Christ. Now that you are in Christ, you live in Him. Christ is the atmosphere or environment around you. You must never allow anything in the physical or natural to distract you from your focus on Christ, because that trust in Him, that is how you dwell in the secret place of the Most High God.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that I am in the secret place of the Most High God and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty because I am in Christ and Christ is in me. Hallelujah! Amen!
