For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Our opening Scripture tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear, which means that fear does not come from God. God is not the author of fear; therefore, you can resist fear. It is your prerogative in Christ to refuse to be afraid, come what may. You are not supposed to tolerate fear in your life in any way. You have been given the spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. Note that the spirit of fear isn’t part of the list of things God has given you. Therefore, fear is of the devil; it is of Satan. Resist it! Refuse to be afraid of nothing! God has given you the ability and authority to resist fear. You have authority over fear in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have the right and privilege to use the Name of Jesus against fear and doubt. You need not be afraid. Fear is needless. Don’t choose fear; rather, resist it! Choose and embrace what the Lord has given you – the spirit of power, the spirit of love and the spirit of a sound mind! Hallelujah!
Again, taking a reference from our opening Scripture which says that God has not given us the spirit of fear, we may want to ask, ‘If God hasn’t given us the spirit of fear, how come some believers are afraid?’ Well, the Word tells us what belongs to us apart from what doesn’t belong to us, to the end that we might reject the things that don’t belong to us whenever the enemy tries to force them on us. You ought not to entertain fear; you ought not to concede any ground to the devil. To entertain fear is to let go of faith because faith and fear cannot cohabit. Fear tolerated is faith contaminated. Instead of letting fear overwhelm you, say to yourself, “I refuse to be afraid”. Keep that inner confidence because deep within, if you don’t entertain fear there, no matter what is happening around you, you are not going to be moved. You declare that the Lord is your light and salvation; therefore, you will not be afraid. The Lord is the strength of your life; therefore, you shall not fear. The Lord is your refuge and your fortress! Understand that everywhere you are, everywhere you dwell, that’s God’s Goshen -that’s the secret place of the Almighty God. You are protected from all evil! Trust in the Lord and be at rest!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I refuse to be afraid, for God has not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I exercise authority over fear and doubt, and over all the works of darkness in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
