4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
In our opening Scripture, Jesus told the parable of the sower who went to sow seeds. Luke 8:11 tells us that the seed is the Word of God, the different soils represent the hearts of men and the sower is the preacher. When you talk to someone about Jesus and what He has done to save them in His substitutionary work for man, preaching the gospel of Christ to that person, you have sown the seed of the Word. The person may not respond immediately but you have made an impression on him. You have sown a seed and the seed of God’s Word is working. It might take some days, weeks, or hours but one thing is certain, the Word is working. Another believer might have the privilege to share with the same person after and before he says a few words, the person is under the conviction of the Spirit of God as a result of the initial seed of the Word that had been sown into his heart. So, it is partnership: the believer who sowed the seed and the one who reaped the harvest. We share in the same joy, the joy of sowing the Word and reaping a soul. So, don’t be discouraged! Keep preaching the Gospel. You are making a difference!
As a soul winner, you need to see people beyond their looks or appearance. Looks might deceive. That a man is well dressed doesn’t mean He has encountered Jesus and that He looks wild doesn’t mean he is irredeemable. Therefore, don’t judge by what you see after the flesh, go by your conviction that the harvest is ripe. Remember, when you win a soul, you have made an eternal profit, therefore soul-winning ought to give you pleasure and satisfaction. Why? It gave the Lord Jesus satisfaction and as His disciple, it ought to give you satisfaction as well. Beloved, understand that the worth of a soul is much more than all the good things in this world put together. So, take it seriously, for it is serious business. Sow the seed of God’s Word everywhere you go, and the Word will prevail as it saves the world. Preach the Word!!!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I commit to preaching the Word day and night, even when it is not convenient. I preach the Gospel every day and everywhere, for I am a soul winner.
