This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The Word of faith is God’s authorized channel of communicating Grace. Grace is what God has done for us in Christ’s substitutionary work for us. God is not trying to get grace ready for us; He has already done that for us in Christ. All the graces of God are domiciled in the office of His Son, Jesus Christ. Grace was prepared for us in Christ, from the foundation of the world and faith is what is now needed to access that grace. Healing, prosperity, wisdom, vision, success, intimacy with God, promotion, dominion, and all of God’s goodness, is grace. Grace is all of God’s provisions for us in Christ. When you see grace, you can tell, that’s grace. Grace is the visible essence of the glory of God. Grace is visible; it is a visible expression of God’s goodness and glory. You can’t see grace and not notice it. In John 1:14, Scripture tells us, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Christ was full of grace and truth and the people beheld His glory. When a man is full of grace, there is something to behold about him. There is something to see, of the glory of God, in his life.
Our opening Scripture tells us something very profound. It reveals that the moment the word of faith was preached to the Galatian Church and they heard and believed it, the grace of God began to work in their lives. Paul wrote by the Spirit, “…received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” Of course, they received the ministry of the Spirit by the hearing of faith. Understand that the Spirit of God is the Spirit of grace; therefore, the ministry of the Spirit is the ministry of grace (Hebrews 10:29). When they heard the Word of faith and believed it, which is known as the hearing of faith, the ministry of the Spirit began with and in them; the ministry of grace began in them (Romans 10:8-10, 17; Ephesians 2:8). The hearing of faith is the hearing that brings faith through the preaching of faith, which is speaking of the Lordship of Christ and His resurrection from the dead. That’s the finished works of Christ. Beloved, believe the Gospel as to what Christ has done for you. That’s how to walk in the grace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Believe and act on the Word! The ministry of the Spirit is activated by the hearing of faith!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a believer, therefore I believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ totally and thoroughly! I hear the Word and act upon it, and the ministry of the Spirit is activated in my life.
