17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
Faith can be strong and very persuasive when you feed it richly and abundantly with the Word of God. Such was it in the case of Abraham when God promised to make Him a Father of many nations and he, being fully persuaded, that what God had promised, He was able to perform; therefore, it was imputed to him for righteousness. Abraham was fully persuaded, beyond doubt that what God had promised him, He was able to perform. Abraham believed in God who specializes in doing the impossible, the God who gives life to the dead and calls the things that be not as though they were. All Abraham had was the Word that God had spoken to him and he believed in the Lord. While he awaited the physical manifestation of God’s promise to him, regarding giving him a seed, God changed his name from Abram to Abraham. He began to live in the now of the promise. He saw himself in light of what the Lord had spoken to him. As a child of God, the moment you hear the Word and your spirit receives it, your faith is stirred and built up. You become pregnant with the Word. Deep within your heart, there is a conviction that what you had believed is yours, you already have it; it belongs to you.
The moment conviction is birthed in you, the Word has started working in you. The moment the Word is sown in your heart, the devil comes with temptations to lure you to give up the substance of your faith. The enemy will begin to bombard you with thoughts of doubt because the devil wants you to give up the evidence of your hope and expectations, which is the Word of God. If you maintain your confession and conviction, you will see your faith leap into being for you. So, hold fast the confession of your faith without wavering. Therefore, having received the Word, in the midst of the trial of your faith, your response is to hold fast to the confession of your faith, nothing wavering. Just as Abraham did, for many years while he waited for Isaac, he kept his confession of faith intact. That faith has come to you by hearing the Word is the beginning of your faith walk, you must also stay in faith until you receive that which you are in faith for. Be patient and steadfast in faith! (Luke 8:15). Your miracle must materialize for the cycle of faith to be complete.
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that the confession of my faith is steadfast as I walk by faith and not by sight. I maintain a consistent confession of my faith every day in Jesus’ Name!
