13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption [b]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Redemption speaks of that which Christ has done for us by reason of His substitutionary work for man. In other words, the idea of redemption is that which speaks of paying the full price for something in order that it might be set free from bondage. So, redemption speaks of both the price that was paid to secure release and the freedom that comes as a result of the payment of that price – full price and freedom. Our opening Scripture gives us an idea here that redemption is deliverance from Satan’s authority to lord it over us. God has delivered or saved us from the influence or the authority of darkness. Note the tenses used in that particular Scripture, “hath delivered us,” which mean that God has already done it. Say it out loud, “I have been delivered from the authority of darkness.” So, God has done it, not that He is going to do it. However, if a child of God is yoked by one form of yoke of darkness or the other, it does not mean that the Word of God is not true. As a believer, you must understand what the Bible says apart from what it does not say.
From our opening Scripture, we see that God has done something for us and He wants us to relate with it in that light. God wants us to have a good understanding and consciousness of what he has done for us. So, the Word of God tells us what God has already done for us so that we can believe it and walk in light of it. We have to believe the Word in order for it to work us. If you don’t have knowledge of what God has done for you, you cannot believe God regarding that thing. So, God’s Word comes to give you knowledge of what God has done for you so you can believe it. The very moment you believe it, you can receive it. As far as God is concerned, believing is receiving. The moment you believe it, you have received it (John 1:11-12). When Jesus came to the Jews, those who received Him were those who believed in Him. You can only possess what you believe. Your faith is your possession, that which you have received a revelation of, from the Word. Choose to believe that God has set you free and you will walk in the reality of absolute freedom. Believe that you have been translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. Believe that Satan and his demons have no power over you anymore! And that will be your reality. You have been absolutely delivered from the authority of darkness. Believe it!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I make bold to declare that I have been delivered from the authority of darkness and I have been translated into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ; therefore, darkness has no power over me anymore!
