2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Whenever there is a desire in your heart or a request which you desire of the Lord, the first step to take is not to look for a scriptural reference that will best suit your desire. You begin by going to God in prayers. The Psalmist in our opening Scripture says God is the One who performs all things for us, so you know when you come to God, you have come to the Answer. You have come to God, the Performer, and your prayer then stems from this understanding, that performance is of God. If God cannot do it, then it cannot be done. Until a man removes alternatives from his life and look only unto God, he is not yet walking by faith. When you repose faith absolutely in God, such that if God does not do it, let it not be done, then your standing before God is that of absolute faith in God. Abraham is an example of this type of faith. He had been in faith for a child; he had promises from the Lord regarding Isaac. Though he was about a hundred years old, and his wife was ninety years old, yet his faith was still in God absolutely. In Genesis 15, Abraham prayed to God about his desire and the Word of the Lord came to him and settled his conviction in the Word permanently.
Beloved, is there something you are in faith for? Do you have a desire or a request that is dear to your heart? Is there something no man can help you with, but God? Then, it’s time to pray. It’s time to call upon the Name of the Lord. Complaining about the situation will not change anything. Through prayer, God changes things. When you cry unto God, you will see His mighty hand at work in your life. Lift up your eyes to the hills, from whence comes your help? Your help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. You can pray for a divine intervention in all the realms of existence; don’t go through life as though you don’t have a God that you can call upon. The Word says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3. God Himself is the One inviting you to come and call, and when you do, you will get an answer. God said I will show you great and mighty things that you didn’t know before. That’s the God we serve. The God that is always willing to answer His children, ever ready to bless you and increase you beyond your imaginations. When you take your desire to God in prayers, birthing the will of God concerning it, light will come to you and you will know the Scripture you need to stand on and that is why it is very important as a Christian to have a rich bank of the Word.
