14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Our opening Scripture clearly describes the current state of some believers, they are in a spiritually inactive position of sleeping, slumbering and insensitivity. When a man is asleep, he is not actively engaging the potentials and the giftings of God in him. Such people are content with little things; with little achievements, they seem fulfilled, and they are just satisfied; but this kind of satisfaction isn’t rooted in God and it doesn’t come out of godly contentment. Scripture says, “But godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6). What then is contentment? Contentment is being grateful to God for the current level you are at while you are on your way to a higher level. You are not greedy, neither are you envious of others that have gone ahead of you, rather you are thankful to God on your way up. Godly contentment does not mean that you are complacent or laid back. You ought not to plateau as a child of God. You ought not to live life as a mediocre. You ought not to be spiritually dull and laid back. You are born of God; you are born of the Word and of the Spirit, therefore, you are royalty and grandeur ought to exude out of you! You can live life at God’s level because you are a child of God. Don’t let your situation cage and mold you! Refuse to conform to this world but rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind!
God wants to be your utmost satisfaction. He wants you to aim for bigger things in Him and there is room for more in God. While you are not envying others who have gone ahead of you, you are also not assuming a posture of mediocrity. Understand this, your life is bigger than you. Your impact ought to be felt by your generation and generations yet unborn. People from world over ought to lift up their hands every day and give God thanks for you. Let the dreams of God in you find unhindered expression and accommodate bigger dreams. Know that there is room for more. Do you have a desire or an awakening from God within you to do something ‘first-of-its-kind’? Follow after your desire or aspiration if you want to see it come to pass. Know this, that any desire that God fills your heart with, no matter how big it may be, it will come to pass by the grace, strength and help of God. You are more than this! Believe it!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that God abides in me; therefore, I am more than this, for greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world! I refuse to be complacent and laid back! I rise to the fullness of my potentials in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
