19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Choice is the exclusive privilege of control and determination given to man by God. You can determine the course of your life. You can choose your destiny; where you’ll end up in life, what will become of you. God made man a free moral agent to choose the outcome of his life so that he doesn’t live being subject to circumstances. God gave man His will, His Word, that he might go the way of life. The choice of life or death belongs to man, however, God counsels us to choose life. Life or death is always the consequence of man’s choice or decision. In Deuteronomy 30:19, God presented before the children of Israel the opportunity to engage their will to choose life, that they and their seed might live. He said, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both you and thy seed may live.” No man will blame God for his or her destiny. Your destiny is your choice. Yes, God has a plan for you; but the plan will not fulfil itself without your choice to yield to it that it may be fulfilled. You must understand this one thing that your choice or decision will determine your destination in life.
Galatians 6:7 tells us “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This again reveals the power of choice. You decide when to sow, what to sow and how to sow; and all that determines your harvest and how you reap. To engage the will rashly in wrong choices and then expect to reap a good harvest is to be self-deluded. That’s known as self-deceit. It is also synonymous with attempting to mock God, but He cannot be mocked. The principle of seedtime and harvest or sowing and reaping is God’s Word revealing the power of choice to make decisions in favour of God’s will and reap immense blessings or benefits. Therefore, submitting your will to God’s will or Word is the wisest thing to do in life. Choose life and live! Choose the will of God for you. The choice is yours and you can make the most of it. Grace enables you to consistently make the right choice in Jesus’ Name!
