13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
We are called to live a life of absolute dependence on God. We are not supposed to live by our strength, nor are we meant to struggle for any cause or reason. We are meant to live from God’s strength. The opening verse is the apostle Paul’s confession of absolute dependence on God, on Christ who dwells in Him. He says, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. He can live independent of circumstances through Christ in him that strengthens him. 2 Corinthians 3:5 tells us that we are not sufficient to think anything as of ourselves, and that our sufficiency is of God. Christ is our life; He is our sufficiency. Christ is the strength of our life. Psalms 27:1 tells us that the Lord is our light and salvation, and that He is the strength of our lives. Evidently, union with Christ is union with Omnipotence; it is union with Omniscience, for he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. In our union with Christ by faith, we are not supposed to live by our own strength, as though we are without Him. No! We are supposed to live from Christ’s strength and sufficiency. Learning to live this way is learning to live triumphant every day; it is learning to live independent of troubles, lacks, needs and ugly circumstances of life. When you learn to live from Christ in you, who is your strength, you have arrived.
When you got born again, God brought you into union with Christ. Now, Christ is your life, and strength, and sufficiency, and wisdom, and salvation, and redemption, and sanctification, and righteousness, and everything. Now then, how do you live from Christ within you? First, see yourself as one with Christ. Meditate on Scriptures on your union with Him. That will help you to see yourself as one with Christ. Scriptures that reveal that you are ‘in’ Him. That preposition ‘in’ mostly used in the New Testament, speaks of your union with God in Christ. Second, put that Word in your mouth in the confession of faith, and third, act upon the Word like it is true, for it is true. Pray those Scriptures daily as you build a strong consciousness of your oneness with Christ, your strength and sufficiency. Hallelujah! No matter the task you are faced with, understand that Christ is your strength and sufficiency. Refuse to be afraid of anyone or anything. You are more than enough to face any challenge because greater is He that’s in you than he that’s in the world. Praise the Lord.
My Solid Front (Confession):
I declare in the Name of Jesus that I am in union with God in Christ Jesus. The Lord is the strength of my life, He is my life, my sufficiency and all in all. I am complete in Him, and in His Name, I can do all things. Amen!
