16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
On the day of Pentecost, while the disciples gathered together in one place as commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4); there was a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind that filled all the house, and the disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Afterwards, the Bible records the gathering of the multitude as drawn by the manifestation of the infilling of the Holy Ghost. As the disciples began to speak with other tongues, the people marvelled for they had never seen such before and they thought the disciples were drunk but Apostle Peter, standing up among the eleven, lifted up his voice and he began to preach. It was such an epic occasion, the outpouring of the Spirit of God and the beginning of believers being able to speak with other tongues. Acts 2:4 says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Note that the disciples began to speak in tongues, not that they spoke and stopped. That was the beginning of the manifestation of the Spirit of God in utterance and revelation as prophesied by Prophet Joel. It was prophesy fulfilled, little wonder Apostle Peter said: “…this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.” The word became flesh (reality); ‘That’ became ‘this’, the reality of the prophecy was experienced by everyone present and we are still experiencing it till this day.
Beloved, if you are a believer in Jesus, you are saved and you can be filled with the Spirit of God if you have not yet been filled, and you can be filled again and again if you’ve already received the baptism of the Holy Spirit evidenced by speaking in tongues. You can prophesy, speaking by inspired utterance God’s plan and counsel for your life, your loved ones, people in your circle of influence and the world at large, according to prophet Joel. Scripture says “…your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” Visions and dreams speak of the revelation of the ways of God, His thoughts and His purposes being unveiled to man. These are manifestations of the Spirit as seen in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit the entire Church. The access point is the infilling of the Spirit, which qualifies you for the manifestation of the Spirit in revelation, utterance and power gifts. Your words now carry the power to change the course of nature, aligning it to God’s perfect will. You can know what the future holds for you, and speak it forth, speaking the divine counsel of God for your life and for your generation. Open your mouth wide and trust God for utterance right now! Go ahead and speak with tongues and prophesy!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a child of God and I am destined to speak by divine utterance in revelation and prophecy; therefore, I open my mouth in faith and by the Spirit of God, I prophesy, speaking forth the mysteries of God in understanding! Amen!
