42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
The desire to be intimate with God should be the most pressing desire every believer ought to have. At creation, God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, to what end? “And let them have dominion….” God made man for him to exercise dominion over the earth, which is man’s governmental position on earth. So, governmentally, man is to rule over the earth as “God’s under-ruler”. However, in position with God, man is to fellowship with God. God wanted mankind to relate with Him as children; He wanted to reveal His Fatherhood. God is a Father and He wanted to have children whom He will love and who will love Him in return. Listen, God wants to commune with you, He wants to share the deepest desires of His heart with you and reveal deep things and ageless secrets to you. God loves you so much that He is not going to withhold anything from you. He gave Jesus up freely for us, what else will He not give you? God delights in you; He loves you so much and He desires to fellowship you. God desires to have you blend in eternally with His glory. Little wonder Revelation 21:3 says “…Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” God made the earth for man to rule over, but He made man for Himself. God wants you to walk with Him like Enoch did. Genesis 5:24 tells us “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Abraham also walked with God, he started with the Word of God in Genesis 12, departing from his country at the Word of the Lord and Isaiah 51:2 tells us “Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” Abraham walked with God and it was unto increase and greatness. You, too, ought to walk with God.
God made you in His image and after His likeness, to have fellowship with Him. Your fellowship is with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3 tells us “…and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” It’s such a privilege and honour for man to be able to fellowship with God Himself. Man fell out of fellowship with God by transgression but thank God Jesus Christ has brought us back into fellowship with the Father God through His redemptive work on the cross of Calvary. Hallelujah!!! Every hindrance to man accessing God has been removed through the substitutionary work of Christ. Now, we can come boldly to the Throne of Grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Nothing is stopping you from accessing God’s presence anymore, nothing can refrain you from being intimate with God. The sin problem has been solved by Christ’s substitutionary work at Calvary; therefore, you ought to have a personal walk with God. How? By faith. Anyone who will walk with God must do it by faith, which is receiving the revelation of God’s Word and living by it. By faith, Enoch walked with God, by faith Abraham walked with God, by faith Moses walked with God and all the Patriarchs of old. We walk with God by faith. Again, faith is hearing, receiving, and acting on the Word. Remember, intimacy with God ought to be your priority!
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me my position with You. My priority in life is intimacy with God. I give myself to walking with God by faith! Thank You Father for Your grace is sufficient for me!
