17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Jesus Christ paid the full price with His blood for the sins of the world. The judgement of God which is meant to come on sinners has come on their Substitute, Jesus Christ. God judged Jesus Christ for the world’s sins. The punishment required to give us peace was upon Him and with His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5). God exhausted His anger and fury on Jesus, that the world might enjoy His love and mercy. The opening verse tells us that through Adam’s offence death reigned, but through Jesus Christ, we (in Christ) have received an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness. What’s abundance of grace? It is God’s immeasurable benevolence and graciousness demonstrated towards us on account of Jesus’ substitutionary work for us. We have God’s favour and grace every day. We are the apple of God’s eye; we are the delight of His heart. We have been accepted in the beloved; we have acceptance with God in Christ Jesus. So, go ahead and bask in the grace of God. Walk in Christ’s confidence and assurance that you are highly favoured of God. Hallelujah!!!
What’s the gift of righteousness? It is God’s precious gift of justification bestowed upon us on account of Jesus’ finished work at Calvary. We have forgiveness of sins; we have remission of our sins, and much more, justification from sins. We cannot be held accountable anymore for wrongdoings in time past. Why? God paid the full price for our sins in the person of Jesus Christ on the Cross. We have been discharged and acquitted from the guilt, condemnation, or power of sin. Hallelujah!!! That’s what the gift of righteousness is. It is God’s gift to everyone that reposes faith in Christ Jesus for salvation. The enemy cannot lay anything to our charge anymore. We are free from guilt and condemnation, for there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Amen!!! So, why the fear? Why concede any ground to Satan? Why let the devil take you for a ride? Why permit thoughts of condemnation and guilt, or inferiority from past sins? Are you not aware that you are a brand-new man in Christ, and that you have received the gift of righteousness, and that you are the righteousness of God in Christ? Beloved, you now have God’s favour and grace. You now have God’s righteousness. You ought to walk tall with your head high up, and with your shoulders squared. Thank God for His unspeakable gift!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I declare that I have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness; I am bold to access grace whenever I need it. I have the favour and graciousness of God all day long. Amen.
