6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
Righteousness is a biblical concept that can only be understood in the light of the Word of God. Many have an erroneous understanding of what righteousness is. They suppose righteousness for mere acts of doing good or acting right. They have arrived at this definition without considering what the Bible says about the subject of righteousness. Our opening Scripture tells us that Abraham believed in the Lord, and He (the Lord) counted it to him (Abraham) for righteousness. This kind of righteousness is of faith. God counted Abraham’s faith for righteousness. This is how God ascribes or counts righteousness. So, the righteousness of God which comes from Him is of faith. When you repose faith in God through Jesus Christ that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, God counts it unto you for righteousness. God justifies people by faith in Jesus Christ. Everyone who has believed in Jesus Christ as the risen Lord and has confessed Him as Lord is justified from every sin and unrighteousness including their consequences (Romans 5:1).
When Abraham believed in the Lord, and God counted it to him for righteousness, Abraham came into alignment with God and His plan for him. The righteousness of faith is alignment with God. When you repose faith in Jesus Christ as the risen Lord, you come under His lordship and He becomes your Shepherd. He then leads you in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake (Psalms 23:1-3). Your trust in God defines your path in life, and that path is righteousness, which is alignment with God. You cannot go astray by reposing absolute faith in God, for the alignment of the righteousness of faith. When you truly believe God, that faith sets you on the path of righteousness. Beloved, your faith in God requires absolute obedience to His Word. Your trust in God brings you to a place where God alone is your confidence, and His Word alone is your final authority. This is the righteousness of faith aligning you with God and to His plan for your life. Beloved, submit to the righteousness of faith and let God carry you by grace into your wealthy place. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I have been justified by faith in Christ Jesus. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and so I live by absolute faith in God by the alignment of the righteousness of faith. Amen.
