3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Many believers are unaware of the spirit realm and what is going on there, simply because it’s a realm beyond the five physical senses, and it can’t be appreciated by the five physical senses. As a spirit being like God, you were made in His image and after His likeness and John 4:24 tells us that God is a Spirit, and man, made in the image of God, is also a spirit being like Him. Reality is not only limited by what you can see with your physical eyes. In fact, reality is beyond what the eyes can see. Little wonder the Word tells us that we walk by faith and not by sight (2Corinthians 5:7). You ought to come into the awareness of the spirit realm and what is happening there. Our opening Scripture shows us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, they are not sensual but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. The Word tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood (humans), but against strongholds, forces, demons, etc. As Christians, we ought to be aware of the battle going on in the realm of the spirit. Demons are angels of rebellion who took sides with Satan against God and became wicked spirits working against God’s will. Though they are personalities just like the human spirit, they are without bodies, and that is why they move around in dry places, looking for human bodies to express themselves through (Revelation 12:7-9). However, God has given the believer authority in the Name of Jesus over Satan and all his demons. Hallelujah!
1 Corinthians 6:17 tells us that the child of God is joined to the Lord and so is one spirit with the Lord. In our union with Christ, we share in His dominion and authority over all demonic forces of darkness. Therefore, the believer ought to understand his identity and authority over the enemy. Faith in the use of our authority over Satan is rooted in our oneness or union with Christ – our identity in union with Christ. Once the believer settles the issue of his oneness with Christ, there is nothing to fear about the devil. Your authority over Satan is Jesus’ authority over him as the Head of the Body of Christ, of which you are an organic and an inseparable part. Jesus handed over all authority to us in His Name, therefore in the Name of Jesus, you take authority over the activities of the evil one and he must obey you. Only be sure that you are submitted to the authority of the Word of God as prescribed in James 4:7 which says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Refuse to let the enemy have a free day, resist him steadfastly in the faith, using your authority in Christ Jesus and He will flee as though one in terror. Christ has already given you the victory, now, use it.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am one with Christ Jesus the Head of the Church. So, Christ’s authority over Satan and all his demons is mine in His Name, and I exercise authority over all demonic forces in the Name of Jesus Christ!
