17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The believer in Christ is not a forgiven or a converted sinner but an entirely brand-new man. The unsaved man is a wretch, but not you in Christ. You were a wretch outside Christ, but now that you are in Christ, you are a new person, God’s beloved, and the apple of His eye. You have been saved by grace through faith, and that not of yourself, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest you should boast. When you got born again, it was a complete work of regeneration that God did in you. Titus 3:5 says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” You were born, not after the old order but of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God which lives and abides forever. John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” You were born after the order of God, according to His will to live a life of grace and glory. In Christ, your old failures and mistakes are washed away by the blood. The old nature, or being, or life, over which Satan ruled is no more; it does not exist anymore. Now you are a brand-new man in Christ with a clean slate. You need to be conscious of this and walk in the light of it to build a stable consciousness of victory. You must understand that the old life with all that came with it is now passed away. The old life with its failures, defeats, with all the negative things that were with it, passed away. Now, you are a brand-new man in Christ and all things have become new.
You must see yourself as the new man that you are now. You must see yourself the way God sees you. “…know we no man after the flesh…” 2 Corinthians 5:16 says. Stop seeing yourself after the flesh anymore. Now that you are a new creature, Scriptures say old things are passed away, behold, look at it, see, all things are become new. So, the old life is gone, all things have become new. Understand that all things that have become new are of God (2 Corinthians 5:18). You now belong to God, and there is nothing the devil can use against you anymore. Now, you have a part to play, to walk in the light of God’s Word, to walk in love, to walk by faith and not by sight. You must take your place in Christ and in the liberty of the sons of God. You must allow your recreated human spirit to bear the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, as you walk in the light, doing the Word (Galatians 5:22-23). As you continue to walk in the light, as He is in the light, you will have fellowship with the Father and you will begin to live out your true nature, that divine nature you received at salvation, as you renew your mind in the Word.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a new creature in Christ and that old things are passed away, and all things have become new. Therefore, I live in newness of life in Jesus’ Name!
