1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Our opening Scripture reveals Jesus as the true vine and believers as the branches. The same way the branches are one with the vine, you are one with Christ. Just as the same vine life flowing through the vine flows through the branches, the life of God flows in you. You live your life by His strength, by His ability, living from an understanding that you are one with Him. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” For you to live in victory, you must identify with the One that gave you victory through His substitutionary work – Christ Jesus. The consciousness of your oneness with Christ makes for living a life of victory. Understand that you are not alone; you’re one with Him. This oneness is a seamless oneness, His ability is your ability, His strength is your strength. 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” The very moment you got born again, you became one with Christ in spirit. Christ is now your sustenance; He’s your sufficiency. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 says, “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God, who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament.” God has also given us His Holy Spirit, so we are one with Him now. Now, it’s your responsibility to walk in the consciousness that you are One with Him and how do you do that? You service that oneness with Him by walking in love. You must train your mind to walk in that oneness, by walking in love and abiding in God’s love.
How do you walk in love? You walk in love by walking according to the Word of God. Jesus said “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:34-35). Walking in love is a commandment, not a suggestion. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself commanded it. 1 John 3:23 says “And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” God expects you to let His love which is within you flow out to others. Just as we have come to know and believe that God loves us, God expects us to love others with this same love with which He has loved us. Remember, we love Him, because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Go ahead and walk in the consciousness of your oneness with Him, abiding in the love of God. Understand that by Him, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You can do all things, in oneness with Christ. In Isaiah 8:18, he says “Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.” This is a prophecy concerning Jesus and the church. In oneness with Christ, you work miracles, you do exploits. You are one with Him, His life is your life, His being your being, His nature your nature, His power your power, His authority your authority. You are an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. Rejoice! Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am one with Christ and do enjoy all the blessings and benefits of this oneness! Amen!
