We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
The Written Word of God is surer than a voice speaking from heaven. There is nothing as sure or surer than the Written Word of God. Even in the temptation in the wilderness, Jesus engaged the power of the Written Word against the tempter, and he bowed out in shame and defeat. Jesus didn’t say to the tempter, “thus saith the Lord”. No, He didn’t! He only said, “It is written”. What the Lord Jesus said to the devil was not God’s prophetic Word given to Him at that moment. It was what the Lord had said in time past that was documented in the Torah, the 5 Books of Moses. He addressed the tempter from what had been written even before He was physically born into the earth realm. That’s how fresh, relevant, and potent God’s Word is. The Written Word is ever relevant to our day-to-day life. We cannot outgrow the Written Word. Our age cannot become more advanced than the Written Word. There is no expiry date to the Written Word; it cannot and will never be relegated to the background, for the ageless, timeless God saw through the aeons and prophesied to cover every age and every generation. Today, the Spirit of God shows us how relevant the Written Word is to our lives, and He teaches us how to apply it for success and victory.
Once we accept the Word as our final authority, we must begin to retrain our minds to think in line with God’s Word. The Bible is the revealed will of God. Everything that we need to know about how to live the way God wants us to, has been provided for us in the Written Word. God will not require you to do what you cannot do; He will not hold you responsible for what you cannot know, either. God has revealed His perfect will to us in the Written Word. What then is our responsibility? We are meant to find out the will of God in the Written Word as we study it with an open heart of sincerity and integrity. When we find the will of God, we must not vacillate about it in any way. We must rest and build faith on the revealed will of God, for it is eternal and does not change from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION)
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that the revealed will of God in the Written Word is surer than any prophecy or voice from heaven; therefore, I repose absolute confidence and trust in the Written Word of God. My heart is fixed on the Word, trusting in the Lord! Amen!
