3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
1 Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
God’s mercies are new every morning. Lamentation 3:22-23 tells us “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness”. We ought to sing a new song daily because God’s mercies and compassions do not fail; they are new every morning. Fresh mercies for every new day ought to spark up in your heart a new song of praise and victory unto God. When you call to remembrance the goodness of God, you cannot but sing a new song. God wants you to sing a new song because He has done a new thing for you. Isaiah 43:18-19 tells us to not remember the former things, neither consider the things of old; it says, behold God will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, and shall you not know it? It says He will make a way in the wilderness, and cause rivers to flow in the desert. First, God has made you a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17); therefore, you ought to sing a new song of gratitude unto Him. Second, He has brought you into the New Covenant, which is established upon better promises. This demands a new song! Third, He has given you a beautiful new commandment of love, which is the fulfilment of the Law. This also requires a new song!
Fourth, God has called you with a holy calling and given you access to His Throne Room. Now you can come boldly to the Father God to find grace and obtain mercy. Awesome, isn’t it. This calls for a new song. Our opening Scripture reveals that God has put a new song in your mouth, even praise unto God. It says many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. A new song in your mouth is an outflow of gratitude from your heart to the Lord. You must remember all of God’s benefits to you: Forgiveness, healing, provision, rejuvenation, preservation, and glorious tender love (Psalms 103:1-3). Beloved, sing a new song unto the Lord, even praise unto Him; bless His Name and be thankful. Remember all His goodness and lovingkindness towards you. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am grateful to God for His benevolence and mercies towards me; I sing a new song of praise and gratitude to God for all He is to me, and for all He has done for me. Amen.
