1 “Listen to Me, you who [a]follow after righteousness, You who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from ] which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.
2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”
Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.
Abraham’s faith is a template for every believer to follow; for he lived by faith and his faith was perfected by God and set as an example for believers to follow. Abraham is the father of faith. When it comes to faith and the righteousness of faith, the Word says to look to Abraham as our example. Our opening Scripture tells us that everyone that follows after righteousness (the righteousness of faith) and seeks the Lord is to look to Abraham as an example. So, Abraham is a reference point and a template; an example for us to follow in matters regarding the righteousness of faith and seeking the Lord. Therefore, we can look to Abraham our father of faith. In Genesis 15:6, the Word tells us that Abraham believed God and He counted it to him as righteousness. So, through faith in God, Abraham attained unto righteousness. Abraham sought the Lord on the ground of the righteousness of faith. This is how the Lord is to be sought by standard and template. The Lord is not to be sought by the righteousness of the Law, but by the righteousness of faith – the righteousness that comes by faith in God. The Word tells us in Isaiah 51:2 that God called Abraham alone and blessed him and increased him. How? By the righteousness of faith. The righteousness of faith is hearing God’s voice and believing in Him unto obedience, which is of faith. Hallelujah!
Abraham became the heir of the world by the righteousness of faith, not by the works of the Law. Self-righteousness didn’t make Abraham heir of the world. The righteousness conferred on him through faith did. Abraham’s righteousness was counted or reckoned unto him by God; he didn’t reckon righteousness to himself by his works. No, a million times no! God did. God alone has the right to reckon or count righteousness to us on the ground of faith in Him. God had said to him, “…in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.” So, Abraham became a father of many nations as it was said unto him. How? Through the righteousness of faith conferred on him by God because he believed God. Abraham finished well. The Word tells us in Genesis 24:1, “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” So, Abraham ended up being a blessed man in all things. How did he get there? By faith! Abraham walked with God by faith. He heard the voice of God, believed it and walked according to the Word. That’s the righteousness of faith.
MY SOLID FRONT:
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that my faith is working like Abraham’s. I declare that I take over territories and subdue kingdoms by this same faith. I enter into my inheritances by faith in Jesus’ Name!
