His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Faith always requires obedience. The Bible speaks of the obedience of faith. What does that mean? Obedience simply means yieldedness; submission to the authority of the Word that produces a reverential positive action in line with the Word. So, obedience is not a strange word, it’s just a synonym for yieldedness. It means to yield to the Word. You let the Word of God have its way in your life. That’s what it means to obey God’s Word. So, faith always produces obedience, which is what the Word calls the obedience of faith. In Genesis 12, God called Abraham out of his country, his people, to a place that He will show him, and the Bible says, “and so Abraham departed”. That means he yielded to the Word; he acted upon God’s Word. When you obey God in faith, it always produces a miracle. In John 2, at the marriage at Cana of Galilee, we saw how the Lord Jesus turned water into wine just because the servants at the ceremony obeyed His Word. Mary the mother of Jesus told them earlier to do whatever Jesus tells them to do. When you act upon the Word in faith, God works miracles in your life.
The power of obedience of faith is tremendous. You can turn any situation around in your favour when you act upon the Word in faith. You can change any situation when you act upon the Word in faith. Acting upon the prophetic instructions given unto you by the Spirit of God from the Scriptures always produces awesome results, miracles. Sometimes, prophetic instructions don’t make sense to the natural mind; but we are not natural carnal people; we are spiritual. We walk by faith and not by sight. We act upon the Word in faith; that’s the life we have been called to live. The just shall live by faith. For example, the prophetic instructions given to Joshua by the Lord to crumble the walls of Jericho didn’t make common sense. Going around the walls of Jericho seven days, once each day, and seven times on the seventh day with a shout the seventh time, to crumble those massive walls that took years to build? Who does that? Not even a pebble would move an inch when screamed at by a thousand people! But when God says to do it, you sure are convinced that it will work. Prophetic instructions are potent to produce the said results when acted upon. Listen carefully, instruction is life. When the Word of God instructs you or the Spirit of God instructs in righteousness, yield to it; obey in faith! This is the obedience of faith. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am yielded to the Spirit, and to His promptings from within; for I am a man of the Word and of the Spirit. Amen.
