20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
Learning the Word for us is drawing wisdom from the Word of God for proper application to life and life’s situations. When listening to the Word of God, you must ask yourself the question, ‘How does this apply to what I am dealing with right now?’ If people don’t learn to apply God’s Word to the needs of their lives, they become religious in no time. They only come to Church for the fun of it, just to soothe their religious consciences that they go to Church on Sunday mornings. That’s not Christianity! True Christianity is living the life of God; it is learning the Word to apply it to life and life’s situations. True Christianity is learning to put the Word to work. You don’t just learn the Word for learning’s sake. You put the Word to work. You eat the Word and digest it. You make the Word yours and apply yourself to it. A Christian learns the Word and applies the principles of the Word of God. You apply these principles and make a success of your life. Practicing the Word is the difference between mere religion and true Christianity. We learn the Word to put it to work. As Christians, we work the Word, and it works for us! Hallelujah!
Coming to Church becomes interesting when you have real challenges, and you know that the real Word of God is the real solution to those challenges. So, when you go to church, you have expectations. You are not a mere churchgoer, marking register; you are not a Church tourist. You are someone who comes to Church, knowing that ‘I’m coming to offer worship and prayers to God; I am here in Church to receive God’s Word for my personal spiritual edification and advancement in life’. You are in Church with an expectation to receive a Word from God that will solve your problems and empower you to solve other people’s problems. You must have the consciousness that in God’s presence, there is the right word to meet that very need, and that you are at the right place, and God is going to speak to you and that the Word will address your challenges. Is there something in your heart you need God to attend to? Desire a sent Word from God; a Word in due season, shot like a well-guided missile to meet every of your need. Beloved, learn and engage the Word!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
I declare in the Name of Jesus, that I give attention to the Word. I live the life of God that I have received to the fullest as I learn the Word and apply it daily to my life and situation. Amen.
