5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
God is a God of plans and purposes. He works all things according to the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11). God has a great plan for you. He designed your destiny before the world began. He carefully thought about your life before the foundation of the world. Amazing, isn’t it? Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end.” Another translation says, “I know the plan that I have for you, plan to give you peace and not destruction; that you may come into a hope and a future.” That means God has a future for you and the future God has for you is not in your own personal plan for yourself but in His plan for you. Irrespective of your intellectual training and background, irrespective of the number of books you’ve read or how smart you are, your thought cannot come any close to God’s thoughts for you. In other words, the best of your plans is a shadow in the light of God’s plan for you. The best of man’s invention and creativity is nothing compared to God’s excellent thoughts for you.
In Isaiah 55:8-9, the Word says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s plan is infinitely better than anything you could plan out for yourself. So, you must learn to follow His plan for you. It takes trust to follow God’s plan. You must come to total surrender such that you are not leaning on your own arm or strength anymore, but you are trusting in God with everything within you. That’s what today’s opening Scripture is telling us; therefore, make up your mind and say, “Lord, I follow your plan for me, no matter what; your plan is best for me.” As you follow God a step at a time, trusting Him every step of the way, He will guide you and bring you to your wealthy place, and all eyes will see that you are indeed a man or woman who has fully followed God, like Caleb and they will begin to appreciate what it means to follow God.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
Heavenly Father, I thank You because You have a great plan for me, and I delight in following your plan for me strictly and diligently. I declare in the Name of Jesus that every step I take according to God’s Word amounts to fulfilling your plan and purpose for me in Jesus’ Name.
