28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
The promise of the Spirit is for every man in Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” Note the word ‘every man’ in that Scripture. God doesn’t just want to fill the five-fold ministry gifts (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) with His Spirit; He wants to fill every man in Christ; He wants every man in Christ to be a vessel of expression or manifestation of the Spirit. In Number 11, when Joshua protested the fact that two elders of the 70 elders of Israel were prophesying in the camp, who were not with the 68 elders at the Tabernacle of witness when God took of the spirit upon Moses and placed it upon the seventy elders, Moses responded by saying “…Enviest thou for my sake? Would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his Spirit upon them!” (Numbers 11:29). This re-affirms the fact that it is the will of God that every one of His people should prophesy; and since prophecy is an effect of the outpouring of the Spirit, and it is the will of God for every man to prophesy, then we can confidently conclude that it is the will of God for every man to be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18 tells us to not be drunk with wine but to be filled with the Spirit of the Living God. Everything we are and have been blessed with in Christ will only find expression through us by the Spirit of God, not by our effort, not by our struggle. It is only by the Spirit of God that we are able and dynamic to do the will of God and to fulfil His purpose for us. Our ability is of the Spirit. We are not sufficient to think anything as of ourselves; our sufficiency is of God, who, by the Spirit, has made us able ministers of the New Testament. If you are born again, and you are not filled with the Spirit yet, go ahead and ask the Father to fill you. Respond to the utterance that the Spirit gives you by speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4), and don’t stop or desist from speaking in tongues from the moment you start speaking in tongues. This is your supernatural journey into the realms of the glory of God. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
Thank You Heavenly Father, for the gift of the Holy Spirit that you’ve poured out to the Body of Christ. I declare that I am a member of that Body by faith in Jesus Christ; therefore, I am a partaker of the Holy Spirit and all His gifts in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
