26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Rich identity consciousness is central to high performance and productivity. Your being is the foundation of who you are. Life and the possibilities that it offers are within the circumference of being or identity. Plant life can only afford plant being. Animal life can only afford animal being, and angelic life can only afford angelic being. So, it is with the divine life. Our opening Scripture reveals the purpose of God for creating man. It says, “And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over …….” God meant for man to be made in His image, and after His likeness. Verse 27 of Genesis 1 tells us that God made man in His image. Man is the image of the invisible God; he is the visibility of the invisible God. Therefore, our identity stems out of God; we hail from God. We take our reference from God. You are like God in Christ. You are God’s offspring in Christ, a brand-new man, made in the likeness of God. Hallelujah! That suggests what you are capable of being and doing. You are wired with God’s ability to act like God. Little wonder the Word tells us in 1 John 4:4 that we are of God and have overcome Satan and his cohorts, for greater is He that is in us than he that’s in the world.
As we learn of who God truly is through the Word, we discover our identity in Christ. As we look in the mirror of the Word, we see the glory of the Lord, and we are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18). Stop trying to discover yourself outside God. Stop asking people who am I? They don’t know who you are. Go to the mirror of the Word and see for yourself by the revelation of the Holy Spirit, who you truly are. Then, you can operate and perform optimally, according to God’s Word. You cannot truly know who you are until you know who God is. God is the Rock from whom you were hewed; He is the parent Rock of ages from whom you are chipped.
My Solid Front (Confession):
Thank You Heavenly Father, for You are the Rock of ages from whom I was hewed; I am Your child and I live by Your Word. I take my identity from my heavenly Father as I see Him through the mirror of the Word. Amen.
