13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Redemption is not a promise; it is a fact. It is not what will happen, it is what has already been done and dusted by the Lord Jesus Christ for humanity in His substitutionary work. Our opening Scripture says, “Christ has redeemed us,” not that Christ will redeem us; He has already redeemed us. You have been redeemed from the curse of the law. Everything that happens outside the covenant of God’s mercy and God’s grace is the curse of the law. Deuteronomy 28:15-68 chronicles what we have been redeemed from. The curse of the Law is a root with fruits. The root is condemnation, which is the cause of the fruits as enumerated in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. Condemnation is a curse, but justification is a blessing. Condemnation is the curse of the Law, while justification is the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:10-14). Now you have been justified by God and you can come before Him like Jesus would and receive all that the Father has in store for you. The blessing of Abraham, justification by faith, is an empowerment to increase, to prosper. This is what you have received in Christ, you have been empowered to prosper. Peradventure you start something small, you are not permitted to remain small, for the blessing, God’s empowerment to increase is upon you. “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase (Job 8:7), for “…the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18).
As a new man in Christ, created after God in righteousness and true holiness, your reference is no longer from your natural lineage or ugly experiences of the past. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is your reality now. It says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” In Christ, you live victoriously, no longer defeated. You are blessed, not cursed. You need not go about breaking curses; you only need to embrace that which Christ has made available to you and this is where the work is for the believer – renewing your mind to this truth and standing firm in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free. How? By meditating on the Word, speaking it to yourself and thinking about it, and repeating this cycle again and again until the image of the blessed man that you are in Christ is formed within you. Like God said to Joshua in Joshua 1:8, you will keep at it until your experiences begin to align with that which you have come to believe.
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, I thank You for delivering me from the curse of the Law. I am free from condemnation by justification through faith in Christ Jesus. I am the seed of Abraham! Hallelujah!
