1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
The blessing of Abraham is all about greatness, influence, fruitfulness, and multiplication. When God called Abraham, God told him “I will make of you a great nation…” Greatness has to do with significance, it has to do with influence, it has to do with being a force to reckon with, being that powerful influence over your space, your domain. God said, “I will make of you a great nation, I will bless you…” The blessing here is God’s empowerment to put you in a privileged position where you have the advantage, the competitive advantage, by the blessing. God said I will make your name great. That’s fame. The blessing of Abraham is all about greatness, impact, influence; it’s all about having the advantage in life. He said “I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing”. This speaks of flowing out to replenish the earth, to be a blessing to people, which means standing in a position of being a giver, you are the one injecting influence into the society, into the community, bringing about change, you are a blessing. Verse 3 tells us “And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” The blessing of Abraham includes protection against everything and everyone that is working against you, which means God is the insurer and insurance of the blessing of Abraham on your life. This is amazing. You don’t have to walk in strife, you don’t have to walk in bitterness against anyone, you don’t have to seek revenge, for God is your defence.
Then God said a very powerful thing: “…and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” In Galatians 3:9, the Scriptures says, “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” It simply means that those who are of faith, who are in Christ Jesus, are blessed with faithful Abraham. Every child of God in Christ Jesus is the seed of Abraham. If you’re a born-again child of God, you are a partaker of the blessing of Abraham, so you can say that the blessing of Abraham is mine. Prominence is yours; fruitfulness is yours; significance is yours; fame is yours. The Bible says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Gal. 3:29). So, everyone who is in Christ is Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. So, Abraham’s blessing is yours if you are a child of God. You are blessed with the blessing of Abraham, the blessing of increase, the blessing of multiplication, the blessing to be a blessing to others. So, live in this consciousness and look for avenues to express this blessing that you carry.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am the seed of Abraham and I am blessed with all good things of life, fulfilling my God-given destiny! Amen!
