6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Our opening Scripture reveals that Abraham believed God and his faith was counted as righteousness. Righteousness was the major blessing God conferred on Abraham and that was the foundation of the blessing on Abraham. It was the platform on which other blessings rested. God’s blessing on Abraham primarily, foundationally, is the blessing of righteousness and that was the part that God mentioned to us when he was proclaiming the blessing on Abraham as promised in Genesis 12:3: “And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” How did all the families of the earth come into the blessing of Abraham? By the righteousness of faith. So, if you are of faith, you are blessed with faithful Abraham because the righteousness of faith has been conferred on you, so you are a partaker of the blessing of Abraham. Righteousness is yours in Christ Jesus, as part of the blessing of Abraham and this righteousness is the righteousness of faith. This means when you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, you come into alignment with God, with God’s purpose, with God’s plan. That means you are now standing in a place where you know you can be blessed, and you can walk in and enjoy the fullness of all of God’s blessings. By the righteousness of faith, you are standing in the right place, you have come to rightness with God, you have come to a right relationship with God.
The fulfilment of the promises God made to Abraham came because of his faith in God. Romans 4:16 says, “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.” So, it is of faith that it might be by grace, in that the promise was fulfilled in the life of Abraham because Abraham believed in the Lord and that brought about the grace of God into His life. The grace of God made the difference in his life, made him rich, prospered him, gave him fame, gave him prominence, made him a man of influence through his faith in Jehovah! So, faith is the key. Everyone who has reposed faith in Jesus Christ is blessed with faithful Abraham and that brings us into perfect alignment with God’s purpose and plan for us. What does God count for righteousness? Faith. Faith in God, faith in His word, faith in Jesus Christ the Anointed One, which brings you into that place of alignment. Now you can fulfil God’s purpose and plan for you; now you can see that you are the seed of Abraham and that you are blessed with the blessing of righteousness. By the blessing of righteousness, you are always at the right place, at the right time, you meet the right people, and you hear the right news at the right time! Hallelujah!!! That’s the blessing of righteousness.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I have received the blessing of righteousness and so I am no longer misaligned from destiny. I walk in the paths of righteousness and I enjoy grace and God’s goodness in the land of the living!
