5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
People often ask questions like: How come there is love and hatred in the same world made by a gracious and good God? How come there is good and evil? How come there is faith and doubt? How come there is righteousness and unrighteousness? Could these forces emanate from the same source? These contradicting forces could not have come from the same source and our opening Scripture lays an important foundation, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. God is not light and darkness; God is absolute light, just as He is not good and evil, He is eternally good. God is love, God is light, God is holy, and every good thing proceeds from Him. James 1:17 says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Everything that proceeds out of God bears an imprint of His nature, therefore the negative forces of hatred, malice, selfishness, murder, theft, war, and destruction do not emanate from God; so, they must come from another source. Just as there is a good God, there is a bad devil that hates mankind passionately. Though he was the anointed cherub that covered, and he was upon the holy mountain of God (Ezekiel 28:14), Lucifer rebelled against God and he became the dragon, Satan, the deceitful one, the serpent and the source of all evil.
2 Corinthians 4:4 describes Satan as the god of this world; he became the god of this world when he deceived Eve and took the authority and power that God committed to Adam over the earth from him. However, it happened in the white light of absolute knowledge, because Adam was not deceived (1 Timothy 2:14) but was in disobedience to God. So, Satan began to rule the earth, and this was how evil was introduced into the world. Murder started with the first children that were born on earth, Cain and Abel, and all manner of evil deeds continued until the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world came into the world to atone for man’s sins. The Word became flesh (John 1:14). 1 John 3:8 says “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus came to redeem man and bring us back to God. Colossians 1:13 says “Who (God) hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” Jesus delivered us from the devil’s hold and set us free to live in the liberty of the sons of God. Now, we are free. You are a free man in Christ Jesus. In Christ, your freedom has been purchased by the blood of Jesus. The voice of the accuser has been silenced permanently over your life and every negative stream terminated. Your experiences are no longer after the natural order; for “…if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is your reality now!
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, I thank You that through Your Word, my eyes are opened to know that evil did not originate in You; it originated in Satan. Therefore, I stand in faith against every evil scheme of Satan in the Name of Jesus Christ, for Christ has given me victory over Satan! Hallelujah!
