17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
If you have ever made a mistake, which you have and everyone has, your strongest desire or prayer is to have another chance so as to make it right. There is nothing as beautiful as the blessing and miracle of another chance to right your wrongs. That was the miracle and blessing we received when we got born again. It was the blessing of being born anew. Why? The first Adam was created perfect but by transgression, his nature became corrupted. He transmuted wrongly. He needed another chance to be born again with a new nature that’s incorruptible by sin. Our opening verse speaks to this theme very clearly and succinctly. It says if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away and all things have become new. When you take Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of your life by repenting of your sins and believing in your heart that He died for your sins, and was raised from the dead for your justification, you become a brand-new self, a brand-new person. That’s what it means to be born again. The Living Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that when someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand-new person inside. That’s what a new creation in Christ is.
Being born again or being a new creation in Christ is the wonderful saving work of God’s grace in the New Testament dispensation. It was prophesied by the Old Testament prophets such as Ezekiel (Eze.36:26-27) but was not understood at the time (1 Peter 1:10-12). God has fulfilled that prophecy in Christ and has given us an understanding of what it is and means to be born again. This mystery has been revealed unto the Church of Jesus Christ by the Spirit through the Epistles, particularly the Pauline Epistles. We are so blessed to be partakers and sharers of the hidden things which God hid before the foundation of the world. Hallelujah!!! Therefore, you ought to be grateful to God that you are in Christ and that you are a new creature in Him. Your past is forgiven and gone, a new you have emerged (have been born), your wrongs have been made right, and you can now live life to the full in Christ. What a blessing! What a miracle! What a privilege! You are a new creature in Christ! Hallelujah!!!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION)
Father, I thank You that I am a new creature in Christ. My past is gone, my history has been re-written, and I am a new person within. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I walk in the consciousness of this new life in Christ. Amen.
