23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Today’s opening Scripture tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Here, it refers to eternal life as a gift of God that comes through Jesus Christ our Lord. So, eternal life is a gift from God. How is eternal life received? It is through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. What then is eternal life? It is a gift of grace that comes to the believer at new birth through faith in Christ Jesus. When you get born again, you receive eternal life through faith. Eternal life is God’s life; it is God’s being; it is God’s nature. In 2 Peter 1:4, the Bible speaks of man partaking of the divine nature. Hence it is possible for man to partake of the divine nature. Salvation, new birth, is the believer’s entrance into the realm of deity – the divine (godlike) nature (kind). Psalms 82:6 tells us that God has called us gods, and all of us in Christ to whom the Word of the Lord has come, children of the Most High God. We are partakers of the divine nature, eternal life, through faith in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!!!
When anyone reposes faith in Jesus Christ, he becomes a possessor of eternal life (John 6:47). The believer is a possessor of eternal life by grace through faith, and that’s the foundation of victory in life. Because we are in union with God and sharer with Him in the divine nature or life, whatever cannot defeat God cannot defeat us. Whatever God has power over, we have power over the same in union with Him. Hallelujah!!! Think of everything God has authority over. That’s what you have authority over in Jesus’ Name. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. In union with Christ you are limitless, boundless and unstoppable. That’s who you are. Now, begin to see yourself the way God sees you. Banish every thought of mediocrity and smallness. You are more than able to handle every situation that comes your way, for the Greater One, the Holy Spirit, is in you.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I have a victorious life; I live in victory non-stop, for my God always causes me to triumph in all things and makes manifest through me the fragrance of is knowledge in every place. Amen.
