2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God! Selah
1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Today’s opening Scripture speaks of Zion as the beloved of the Lord. It says God loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. It then goes on to say that glorious things are spoken of Zion, the city of God. What does that mean? It means that Zion is a glorious city and the things that are spoken of Zion are glorious, not shameful things. Well, there is a literal, physical geographical city or place known as Zion in Israel. However, there is a spiritual city also known as Zion. Hebrews 12:22 tells us that believers have come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. When we got born again, we were born into spiritual Zion, the city of the living God (Psalms 87:5-6). So, the Church, the Body of believers, is the spiritual Zion; therefore, glorious things are spoken of us. Listen beloved, you are not to be known for shame or disgrace. You are God’s Zion; and you are to be celebrated, for glorious things are spoken of you! Hallelujah!
Isaiah 60:2 tells us, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” What the Scripture is saying is that the generality of people may be in darkness and remain there, but for those who dwell in Zion, our experiences will be different, because our case is different. No matter what is happening out there in the world, your lot is maintained. You are supposed to have a different experience. Beloved, the truth is that God has spoken well concerning you. People may go into depression, setbacks and terrible things but for you, your experience would be in the order of the Godkind because your case is different. You are the light of the world; a city that is set upon a hill, which cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). Contrary to what is happening out there in the world, the Lord has risen upon you and His glory is seen upon you. Though the world is experiencing darkness, yet, as a child of God, your lot is different. The glory of God is upon you and all eyes will see that you belong to God. Do you believe it? Now, step out and launch forth in faith as you enjoy the glory of God in your career, business, academics and every sphere of life. Put the Word of God in your mouth and declare that your case is different!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my case is different. Glorious things are spoken of me and I ride upon my high places in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
