And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Every child of God is a priest by divine ordination and Jesus is the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:17), which means that He is a Priest forever; therefore, His priesthood is unchangeable. Jesus Christ our High Priest is irreplaceable. Understand that according to the order of priestly ministry, priests minister alongside the High Priest and their ministry spans the length of time of the ministry of the High Priest, even as it was with Aaron the High Priest and his sons under the Law. Therefore, as a kingdom of priests unto God in the New Testament, we minister alongside our High Priest forever. Hallelujah! Our opening verse tells us that God has made us kings and priests (a kingdom of priests) unto God and His Father. The Church, the Body of believers, is a kingdom of priests. We have a priestly ministry unto our God and Father. This priestly ministry is a noble one; it is a high calling in Christ Jesus. This ministry is first and foremost unto God; it is ministering unto God, then it is blessing humanity in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. When we pray and fast in devotion to God, we are fulfilling our ministry as priests. We minister to God in thanksgiving, worship and praise. We offer the sacrifices of praise unto God.
Note carefully that the word ‘priesthood’ in our contemporary days is known as ‘ambassador’. A kingdom of priests is synonymous with a government of ambassadors. That means if a country will have to execute a task with another country in terms of their diplomatic relationship with one another, they will not bypass the ambassador of the foreign nation in their country but ensure that the embassy is adequately informed. Likewise, if God will do anything in this present world today, He is going to do it through the government of ambassadors, that is, the kingdom of priests. He will not do anything in this realm without us because that is the legal pathway. So, if believers do not align with God in understanding and in spirit, we will be hindering the move of God around us, in our neighborhood, in our country, and in the world at large. We are meant to bear God’s government to the world; God’s kingdom is extended to the world through us. We are God’s kingdom to the world. This makes us power brokers in the scheme of things. We are a kingdom of priests with God’s mandate to broker kingdom power. How? Through the understanding of the Word in knowing our place in God’s plan and how to carry ourselves in it, and through the exercise of kingdom authority in prayer and fasting.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I take my place as a priest unto my God. I broker kingdom authority in union with Christ to the glory of God and blessing to humanity. Amen!
