So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Thanksgiving is acknowledgment of God as Source and Provider. Through thanksgiving, you acknowledge Him as God for who He is and for what He has done for you. You simply acknowledge God as good and gracious. Psalms 107:1 tells us, O give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endures forever. It is evident from the preceding scriptural verse why we are to give thanks to the Lord. Why? God is good and His mercy endures forever. Psalms 29:1-2 says, Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Thanksgiving is an active thing; it is not done passively. You don’t just show gratitude to God in your heart. You have to demonstrate it by giving thanks with your lips and your entire body – dancing, shouting, jumping and rejoicing. When you give thanks to God, He is magnified in your eyes. You will then begin to see God as He truly is. Ingratitude pigments your view of God such that you begin to see Him unlike who He truly is.
Thanksgiving activates the power of the blessing in your life in marvelous ways beyond your deepest and widest imagination. Our opening Scripture tells us of the account of Jesus performing the miracle of multiplying loaves of bread and fish. It reveals very clearly the secret involved in performing that miracle. It says, Jesus took the five loaves, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave to His disciples to set before the people. The key to unleashing the power of the blessing is thanksgiving. The Lord Jesus gave thanks to the Father. Why? For what? Did He give thanks for the insufficient supply of bread and fish? No! He gave thanks for the all sufficiency of the Father God. The Lord Jesus gave thanks because there is no situation that’s too hard for God; He is Almighty! This is why we ought to give thanks. God is good and gracious, and His mercy endures forever. There is no power or might beyond the power of our God. He is Almighty! When thanksgiving is offered unto God in this regard, He manifests Himself as good and as Almighty. When God is acknowledged as good, and as gracious, and as kind, and as Almighty, that’s what we see of Him in our lives. The manifestation of God is always consistent with our acknowledgement of Him; and there is no genuine acknowledgement of God without thanksgiving.
MY SOLID FRONT (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus, I acknowledge God as God, Source, and Provider. With my thanksgiving, I acknowledge God as the Lifter of my head, my God, my Father, my Provider and my Source. I walk in and enjoy prosperity in everything that I do in Jesus’ Name!
