For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth
Priests are known for their life of devotion; they are devoted to God and to the things of the Spirit of God. When you see a priest, one thing that is evident is the aura of God’s presence upon him. You know them by their strong devotion to God. As a child of God, understand that your primary assignment on earth is priesthood. Remember, the Body of believers is a kingdom of priests; we are a kingdom of priests, kings and priests, unto our God. As a priest, there is a difference between your job and your work. Your job may be secular in outward expression, but it is spiritual in essence. As a child of God, maybe you are a fashion designer; that’s your job but priesthood is your work. Priesthood is the essence of your job. Through the essence of priesthood, you reveal God in your job. So, we are primarily a kingdom of priests and we manifest the kingdom of God in the works of our hands through priesthood. Your true office is priesthood. So, when you are in the office at your job, you stand in your office as a priest. Don’t misplace priority. It is priesthood first! Prioritize priesthood!
Our opening verse tells us that the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts. The lips of a priest ought to keep the knowledge of God. What does that mean? The knowledge of the Word of God ought to be found in the lips of the priest, which means that he is a custodian of the Word of God; he is a receptacle of the mysteries of the kingdom of God. As a priest, when you open your mouth to speak, the knowledge of God ought to distill upon people as the dew of heaven. You ought to dissolve doubt and break down hard sentences. As a priest of the Most High God, you ought to be a good student of the Word of God. In order for your lips to keep knowledge, you must get knowledge. You must seek knowledge. You must have taste and appetite for knowledge. To be effective in your ministry as a priest, you must keep steps with the Word of God; you must stay in fellowship with the Word. When the Word dwells in you richly, then you will be effective in your priestly ministry. Understand that as a priest, your first assignment is to minister unto the Lord. You can only minister to the Lord as you are filled with the knowledge of the Word, because the sacrifices of fools are an abomination to the Lord.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
Father, I thank You for showing me the importance of keeping Your Word in my lips; therefore, I give earnest heed to the Word and let the Word dwell in me richly in all wisdom.
