My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
God is a faithful God. History has proof that He is faithful; He has a robust track record that He is honest and faithful to His Word. We all are witnesses to the faithfulness of this great God. He spoke the whole universe into existence in the beginning of creation, and it was so. We all live in the reality of His existence and faithfulness to perform His Word. In fact, we are the very evidence of His creative power and evidence of His faithfulness. When He set out to create the universe in the beginning, He deliberated to make man in His image and after His likeness, and today we are the result of that. He is undoubtedly a faithful God. Our opening verse tells us that our great God will not break His covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of His lips, which means that He is faithful to make good His covenant and establish the words of His mouth. That’s the anchor of our souls; that’s the reason we believe that He cannot let us down; that’s the reinforcement of our faith and quiet confidence in Him. God’s Word is His bond; His Word is His covenant. He will not fail to fulfill or make good His Word. In fact, God’s Word is the verity of His everlasting and eternal life; His words are as sure as His life.
God made a promise to Abraham to give him a child. Many years rolled by, yet He fulfilled His promise to Abraham. He did not deny Himself; He fulfilled His Word to him. Sarah his wife received strength to conceive Isaac, all because God said so. When God made a promise to Abraham to give unto him and his descendants the land of the Canaanites, He fulfilled His Word. Hundreds of years passed after the promise, yet the fulfilment was not denied him. The children of Israel still came back to inherit the land which the Lord promised to Abraham, after having been in captivity for four hundred years. Why? Evidently because God is faithful to make good His Word. Two things stand out here as to God’s faithfulness: one, God’s integrity and two, God’s ability to perform His Word. Beloved, not only is God faithful and honest, He also is powerful to make good His Word. He is not lacking in ability to perform whatsoever He has promised you. You sure can trust Him. How? Meditate on the Word, believe it, receive it, and act upon it in confidence that God will never fail you. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your integrity and faithfulness. I know that You are honest and true to Your Word, and that Your Word cannot fail. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my confidence is in Your Word to live by it. Amen.
