Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Our opening Scripture tells us of the sure mercies of David. The Word instructs that by inclining our ears and coming to God; and hearing what the Lord has to say to us, our souls shall live and then we will understand the everlasting covenant that He has made with us in Christ, even the sure mercies of David. What’s the sure mercies of David? It is God’s steadfast and unchanging mercies covenanted to David by God to preserve his seed from seeing corruption. This was the mercy given to the Lord Jesus Christ when He was raised from death. Acts 13:34 tells us that when Jesus was raised from death, the Father God said to Him on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. In verse 35 of Acts 13, the Word tells us why God gave Jesus Christ the sure mercies of David. It tells us that in Psalms 16:10, “…you will not allow your Holy One (Christ) to see corruption.” That ‘sure mercies’ of David was what preserved Christ from experiencing corruption. Hallelujah!
When God raised Jesus Christ from death, the Word tells us that He raised us up together with Him. When God gave Jesus Christ the sure mercies of David never to see corruption forever, we also received the sure mercies. Ephesians 2:1-6 tells us that we were raised together with Christ. We are now beneficiaries of the sure mercies of David. Hallelujah! Nothing is permitted to die in your life anymore! Nothing is permitted to decrease in your life anymore! You have received the sure mercies of David. Now, listen to Jesus Christ, the Surety of the everlasting covenant, even the sure mercies of David. Remember, to walk in the sure mercies of David, you must incline your ear and come unto Jesus Christ. You must hear Jesus unto the obedience of faith and your soul will live (Isaiah 55:3). The question is, what has the Lord Jesus commanded us to do? In John 13:35, the Lord Jesus tells us, a new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another; and this is His commandment, that we should believe on the Name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment (1 John 3:23). So long as we do that in faith, we will enjoy the sure mercies of David. Hallelujah!!!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
Father, I thank You, for the finished work of Jesus on the Cross for me. Thank You for the sure mercies of David that’s upon me perpetually! I will never experience corruption in anything pertaining to life and godliness, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
