Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It matters the kind of mind that runs in you. The kind of mind that’s in you determines how you think, your belief system, your value system, your culture and conduct, and your expectations in life. Our opening Scripture tells us to let the mind which was in Christ Jesus be in us. What mind does it refer to, here? The mind of humility; the mind that minds the things of God. In Philippians 4:6-7, the Word speaking of Jesus says, “who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name.” When you mind the things of God and you are lowly in mind, God Himself will lift you. When you mind the will of God for your life and humble yourself to do, God will lift you. Jesus Christ is our perfect example. He set His mind on the Father’s will for Him; He condescended Himself to the lowest possible point of humility and God lifted Him. He chose the lowest point in humble surrender to the Father’s will and the Father chose the highest point in exalted elevation for Him.
Don’t mind things that are contrary to God’s will – high things. Mind the things of God and have a humble mind. What does that mean? It simply means a mind that is willing to do the will of God, no matter what; a mind that wants to follow God’s plan, come what may. A humble mind is a mind with absolute resolve to go the lowest, if the will of God demands it, a mind that trembles at the Word. It is a mind that serves humanity in the Name of the Lord. You must let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Remember that lifting comes from God. God is the Lifter up of our head. So, refuse to exalt yourself. Let God exalt you. As you humble yourself before God, He will lift you beyond your wildest imagination. Hallelujah!
MY SOLID FRONT (Confession):
I declare that I have the mind of Christ; therefore, my mind is blessed. I see men the way I ought to see them. I seek the will of God for my life, no matter what, therefore I experience lifting in life by the hand of God in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
