1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Meditation is the art of contemplating the Word such that it becomes the image and delight of the heart which influences one’s manner of speech or communication and perspective to life. Our opening Scripture tells us that meditation determines our understanding and observation. It says when we meditate in the Word, our perspective of life is then informed by the Word. It says we then will observe to do all that’s written in the Word. Did you see how meditation informs or determines our behaviour, how we live our lives? So, how does biblical meditation begin? The Word tells us in the opening verse that it begins with speaking the Word to ourselves. You speak the Word to yourself, and I speak the Word to myself. Why is this important? Well, the spoken Word is the mother of God-like thoughts and dynamic spirit energy. When you talk the Word to yourself, your mind is compelled to think upon the Word. The Word then becomes the source material of thoughts in your mind. When a Word thought stream begins to flow in the mind that was initiated by speaking the Word to yourself, the process of meditation has been activated. Now, understand that the Word of God is powerful to alter the course of your mindset consistent with God’s nature and will and purpose for you. In no time, or before long, a new mindset is formed, which in turn determines a new way of speaking and living. That’s what meditation is and what it does to the believer.
The ways of God produce the life and results of God. When you begin to think consistent with God’s ways of doing things and walk accordingly, you will begin to get the God-kind of results. The Word declares that God crowns the year with His goodness and His paths drop fatness (Psalm 65:11). Meditation in the Word gives you a Word mindset and you will begin to walk in the ways of God, which in turn causes you to prosper and have good success. Success, the God-kind, is a product of walking in the ways of God, doing things God’s way, thinking God’s way, and speaking God’s way. The paths or ways of God drop fatness. You cannot walk in the paths of God and end up a failure! No, it is not possible; for the paths of God drop fatness! Meditation in the Word is the key to walking in the paths of God that drop fatness. Now, go ahead and talk the Word to yourself until it takes your mind over, then roll that Word thought over and over in your mind until you begin to see things like God sees them! Then go ahead and act from that inner image or picture. You cannot but become prosperous and have good success. Hallelujah!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my mind is fruitful and productive as I meditate in the Word. I am prosperous and have good success in all that I do in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
