18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
The favour of God is His manifest presence and glory on your life that makes for distinction. God’s favour on your life is God smiling on you; therefore, everything God created works for your good. The favour of God is a tangible manifestation of God’s glory on your life that makes you magnetic of good things. God’s favour on your life causes the hearts of people to be open to bless and to help you. God’s favour is His special blessing of acceptance and approval on your life, which brings you into privileges and open doors human effort cannot bring you into. God’s favour is simply amazing. No amount of labour can equate the favour of God. In fact, a lifetime of labour is nothing in worth, compared to a moment of God’s favour. That’s how invaluable and priceless God’s favour is!
Every child of God, by reason of salvation or new creation, has come into an atmosphere or envelope of God’s favour, and that atmosphere is Christ. As a child of God in Christ, you have God’s favour on your life. Psalm 5:12 tells us that the righteous person has a special blessing of God’s favour as a shield around him. This means that the righteous is surrounded by the favour of God. Why is this so? The man in Christ is God’s righteousness; he is God’s righteous one by faith in Jesus Christ, and has come into the dispensation of God’s favour. The child of God is a proper child, born in due season to showcase the glory of God to the world. In today’s opening Scripture, the Lord Jesus announces that He is anointed to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. The Amplified version of the Bible helps us to understand what the acceptable year of the Lord is. It says it is the year when salvation and the free favours of God profusely abound. Again, Psalm 102:13 speaks of the ‘time, the set time’ to favour Zion, which represents the Church (Hebrews 12:22-23). When Jesus was born in a manger, the angels of the Lord began to rejoice saying “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill towards men”. That was a declaration of favour towards men. So, when Jesus was born, He came to us with the favour of God. He was born to release God’s favour upon us. So, everyone that has believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour has come into the favour of God. Welcome to the dispensation of favour! Beloved, the favour of the Lord belongs to you now. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I declare that I am living in the dispensation of God’s favour. Favour surrounds me as a shield; therefore, I stand out in all that I do in Jesus’ Name. God’s favour belongs to me. Amen
