In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
The word redemption is much more than a theological word; it is a biblical fact and reality. It is something that we can relate to now because it is what Christ has accomplished for us in His substitutionary work, which is available for the taking now. Our redemption in Christ is not a promise; it is a fact, a God-accomplished reality. When it comes to redemption, understand that we are dealing with done deals of God in Christ; sealed realities equally made available to all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Our redemption is the object and substance of Jesus’ substitutionary work at Calvary, which ought not to be treated with levity as though a promise or a mirage. It is a fact or reality that everyone that understands the legal and vital accomplishments of Christ for man ought to take very seriously. We are told in the opening Scripture that redemption through Jesus’ blood and forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of God’s grace are all ours in Christ. What blessing we have in Christ! Hallelujah!
What is redemption? Redemption is a divine buy-back from Satan, and from sin and all its consequences. The consequences or wages of sin are numerous; but in summary, we are told in the Word that the wages of sin, is death. So, everything that spells doom, or death, which is separation from the very life of God and all that it offers – sicknesses, diseases, poverty, oppression, fear, and everything in the order of darkness – is death. To be redeemed is to be bought back. Therefore, redemption offers the privileges and blessings of living a sin-free, sickness-free, oppression-free, darkness-free life. Back to the opening verse which says that we have redemption in Christ, please note the tense of writing. It doesn’t say we are going to have redemption someday, sometime in the future. But it says we have redemption in Christ right now. Everything that Adam lost in the fall has been redeemed to us in Christ. Hallelujah!!! You now can take back what is rightfully yours by faith. You don’t have to live under the burden of sin, or sickness, or poverty, or any form of oppression of the devil anymore. In the Name of Jesus Christ, you resist the devil and his works, and he has to flee away from you. Once upon a time you were dethroned from dominion in Adam, but now you have been enthroned to dominion in Christ. Understanding your redemption realities in Christ is the gateway to endless dominion in this world. Amen!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I am the redeemed of the Lord. I have been redeemed from the power of darkness; therefore, nothing of darkness has any say over me. I make bold to declare that sin, sickness, disease, poverty have no power over me in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
