Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Faith begins where the knowledge of God is known and believed. The moment the light of God’s Word breaks forth on the inside as to what Christ has done for you, and you can boldly call those things your own, then you are ready to step into the experience of the finished work of Christ. You need to come to clear terms with the finished work of Christ. You need to internalize the things Christ has done for you. You can no longer let them slide or slip you by; you must seize them as yours and as yours absolutely. The key to taking a hold of what Christ has done for you is the identification of faith. You must identify with Christ in His substitutionary work for you and with all He has done for you. Begin seeing yourself and Christ as one inseparable entity. Since He took your place, you can now take His place; since He was your Substitute, you can now identify with Him in all things about which He was your Substitute. You now have a legal ground on which to stand in order to receive all of God’s blessing for which Christ died to make yours. The key to enjoying, by experience, what Christ has done for you is identification with Him by faith in that regard.
Our opening Scripture reveals that the old man or old life was crucified with Christ and died with Him that the body of sin might be destroyed, in order that we might not serve sin anymore. The Old man, the life that is subject to sin, loves to sin, loves to do evil things; that nature that longs to do evil has been crucified with Christ and died with Him. That nature once held sway in us as unbelievers, but has been crucified with Christ, now that we are Christians. As you identify with Christ by faith in this regard, you will experience the power of God at work in you to live a holy life. Identification by faith reckoning that all that Jesus did for you is true in your case, and in your mind’s eye, you see all that as yours. Romans 6:6 says, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” We, the old man, died with Christ; and the man that’s now in Christ is a new man, a new creature; therefore, sin shall no longer have dominion over us. Hallelujah!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am of God and I am born of God. The very life of God is in me and I live out that life by identifying with Christ by faith. Amen!!!
