And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
The flow of God’s power is not haphazard. The power of God flows on the track or rail of faith; it flows in the direction of faith. It is your faith in God that directs the operation of the power of God towards and in you. The Lord Jesus Christ was on His way to Jairus’ house when the woman with the issue of blood intercepted His procession with her faith. She changed the direction and trajectory of the power of God by her faith. Listen, your faith in God tilts the flow of God’s power in your direction. Wherever the power of God is present, faith pulls and draws on it. Faith receives and engages the power of God. The power of God does not just work because it is the power of God. No, a million times, no! The power of God does things or works because somebody believes according to God’s Word and pulls on the power of God. To connect with the power of God, you must lay a demand on God’s power by faith. In fact, your faith is the demand you place on the power of God. Your faith is the receiver of grace; it is the receiver of the power of God. Your faith will take what you need and receive it, then you can say “it is mine.” Faith is receiving, believing and acting on the Word of God.
Jesus’ procession to Jairus’ house was halted suddenly by a woman who believed the Word, even without His permission. The woman with the issue of blood came behind and reached out in faith and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. She believed that all she needed was a contact with Jesus, the anointed One. Jesus Christ was full of the power of God, but it was the woman’s faith that pulled on that power! Her faith pulled on the power of God and the cycle of twelve years of continuous blood flow ceased immediately. She reached out to the power of God and she was healed. Indeed, the power of God flows in the direction of faith. Beloved, don’t wait for the power of God to reach you. You may wait for long, if you wait for God’s power to reach you; but you can reach God’s power faster by faith. If you have to wait for God to reach you, it might take 38 years as it was with the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5), but if you will go and touch God yourself through your faith, it doesn’t take long. The power of God is available to you. Use what God has given you. Take a hold of your blessing by faith. Receive from the Lord by faith, for that is the common denominator in Christ. On account of faith, everyone is blessed (Romans 10:12).
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my faith is potent and active. My faith is working. I pull on the grace and power of God by faith in Jesus’ Name!
