And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Fruitfulness is one of the offshoots of the blessing. Our opening Scripture reveals how that the blessing was conferred on man at creation unto increase and multiplication. God blessed man with five major blessing points: fruitfulness, multiplication, replenishing, subduing, and dominion. The blessing is meant to bring about fruitfulness and multiplication, replenishing, subduing and dominion. So, the blessing is the fuel, the energy, the engine that brings about fruitfulness. There is no such thing as fruitfulness without the blessing. In fact, the root cause of fruitfulness is the blessing and the effect of the blessing working in our lives is fruitfulness. We understand that God is the King of kings, so when He speaks, He does not suggest, rather He commands. God is the Commander of the blessing, so when He was speaking in Genesis 1:28, He was not suggesting to Adam, to mankind, He was commanding the blessing upon man. This kind of blessing is called ‘the commanded blessing’. In Genesis 1:28, God commanded the blessing on mankind to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish, to subdue and to have dominion.
The first contact mankind had with God was the blessing conferred on them. However, Adam forfeited the privilege of carrying that commanded blessing because of transgression; then God began to look for another man to carry and extend the commanded blessing to the end of the world. So, God found Abraham, and when He found him, He made promises to him of the same blessing – the commanded blessing. The commanded blessing was given to Abraham as promises conditioned on his faith in Jehovah. God spoke to Abraham to get out of his country and out of his family to a land that He (the Lord) would show him. God required Abraham’s faith to have him carry the blessing, just as he needed Adam’s faith to carry the blessing. Adam lost the blessing because of disobedience whereas Abraham connected with the blessing by faith. It is by faith, which is receiving, believing and acting on the Word that we connect with the blessing. We receive this commanded blessing by faith. Faith simply means absolute reliance on God, responding to His Word in obedience. There is no such thing as ‘I have faith in God’s Word’, just saying ‘I believe’ and there is no corresponding action in the direction of that Word. Bible faith is the faith that goes with action. You act on the Word because you truly believe in the Word of God. Beloved, as a child of God in Christ, the commanded blessing is upon you because you are the seed of Abraham (Galatians 3:29). As you walk by faith, the commanded blessing will work in your life, producing fruitfulness on every side. Hallelujah!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am the seed of Abraham, and that the commanded blessing is working in me and through me. I live by faith and walk in the manifestation of the commanded blessing always!
