26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [b]moves on the earth.”
It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore.
In the beginning, in Genesis 1:26-28, God revealed His purpose of making man. God made man in His image and after His likeness to exercise dominion over all the earth, and He intended for man to carry out this mandate by the power of the blessing. Genesis 1:28 tells us, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” The moment God was done making man, He blessed man. Why? The blessing is what it takes to fulfil the mandate God has placed on man. Man cannot fulfil the mandate of exercising dominion over all the earth without the blessing. The blessing is God’s empowerment given to man to fulfil God’s purpose on earth. God spells out what the blessing is meant to do: “and God blessed them”, meaning “be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it, and have dominion…” So, there are five (5) components or ingredients of the blessing, namely: Fruitfulness, Multiplication, Replenishing, Subduing and Dominion. Listen beloved, by the blessing, you are fruitful!
The commanded blessing is the proclaimed blessing upon you, the blessing that God confers on you; it is the blessing upon every child of God in Christ, as the seed of Abraham! (Galatians 3:29). And when you carry the commanded blessing and are conscious of it, you prosper by it. In Leviticus 25:21 the Lord said, “Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.” The commanded blessing is the blessing proclaimed or uttered upon you. So, as a child of God, the seed of Abraham, you ought to declare with your mouth that you are blessed. Don’t keep quiet when it comes to the blessing. Say it out loud, “I am blessed.” Say that over and over again! Refuse to be quiet about it. It is something to be loud about; it is not a thing to be quiet about! Understand that when the blessing is commanded, then it starts working; it is activated. God blessed man by a proclamation of the blessing on them (Genesis 1:28). You, too, speak the blessing over your life in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am blessed and walk in the consciousness of the blessing every day! I am blessed roundabout and fruitful in all that I set my hands upon to do!
