“Listen to Me, you who [a]follow after righteousness,
You who seek the Lord:
Look to the rock from which you were hewn,
And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.
2 Look to Abraham your father,
And to Sarah who bore you;
For I called him alone,
And blessed him and increased him.”
1 Now the Lord had said to Abram:
“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
God started blessing man in the Garden of Eden and He is still in the business of blessing, multiplying and increasing His people today. Abraham is a template for us to study, how he walked with God unto fruitfulness and increase. Our opening Scripture reveals that God called Abraham and blessed and increased him. When God called Abraham in Genesis 12, He called him to a land that He, the Lord, will show him. God cut a deal with him by calling him out of His Father’s house to a place which only God knew and promised to give him the land for an everlasting inheritance. So, Abraham began to increase because of the blessing on him. The increase came because of the blessing. Increase is an indicator that the blessing is at work in the life of a man or in any place. A blessed man doesn’t have ‘good old days’ experiences better than today! No better yesterday! Every blessed man, like Abraham, goes from glory to glory! For the path of the righteous man is as a shining light, that shines brighter and brighter, gets bigger and bigger, better and better unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18). As a child of God justified by faith in Christ Jesus, your path ought to shine brighter and brighter, even unto the perfect day! You are irreversibly and irrevocably blessed!
In studying the Scriptures, we cannot talk about fruitfulness without giving detailed attention to studying the life of Abraham and his walk with God. Abraham is the father of faith and a scriptural example of a blessed man. Abraham walked with God by faith and he was blessed by God for obeying God’s Word. Studying the life of Abraham from Genesis 12 to Genesis 22 as he walked with God, positioning himself for the blessing to flow in his life, his journey of faith and blessings was summarized in Genesis 24. In Genesis 24:1 the Word tells us, “Abraham was old and was well stricken in age and the Lord God had blessed him in all things.” Notice that Abraham’s walk with God was of faith, which required absolute obedience to God! You cannot truly walk by faith and not obey the voice of God. Faith is obedience to the Word of God. When you obey God in faith, the Spirit of God comes upon you to make you fruitful. That’s the secret to Abraham’s life of success and blessings. Listen, beloved, settle it in your heart that you are going to live a life of absolute obedience to God (Genesis 22:18).
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the name of Jesus Christ, I walk in absolute obedience to God and His word. Therefore, I increase exponentially, giving full expression to the blessing upon me. I break forth to the right, to the left and roundabout unhindered in Jesus name.
