Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Desire is proof of pursuit. When you come to God in the place of prayer, you ought to come with a strong desire regarding the things that you want to ask. There must be expectations in your heart when you are seeking God. No man seeks God just for the fun of it. When you seek God, you seek Him to be found of Him; you seek Him on purpose, for a purpose. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Diligent seekers of God have desires which they present before Him in the place of prayers, whether theirs, or for their loved ones, for the precious saints of God within their local assembly, or for the Body of Christ at large. The place of prayer is the right place to channel your desires unto God, in that if you truly desire a thing, you should pray about it, ushering your desire to God. However, note the difference between your desire and the revelation of the Word in your spirit. Your desire is not the same as the revelation of God’s Word that has come to you; they are two different things. Your desire is different from what God told you. Your desire is not confirmed yet until you hear from God regarding that desire.
A lot of people speak their desire as though a Word from God, having not taken it to God in prayers. This ought not to be so. You don’t confess your desire, you pray it. Pray your desire first. Let God speak to you concerning that desire, then you will have something to say and declare in your confession. So, first of all, pray. Real faith begins where the will of God is known. However, before knowing the will of God, there is a precursor: prayer. Before you start confessing, you will go to God in prayer and pray your desire to Him. At least, hear God about that desire and let Him lead you to the Scripture that speaks to the desire. Don’t try to manipulate God, for He cannot be manipulated. But as a child of God, you will seek to discover the will of God for you, then you will sit down with the Word and you can now speak from the revelation of the Word birthed in your heart. When you are acting on the written Word with a substance in your heart, that is faith. When you are acting on the written Word without a substance in your heart, that is not faith; though you are acting on the written Word, the substance is not there yet because it is with the heart we believe, not just by reading it in the Book. Until your heart captures the substance of what you are reading or have read in the Book, you are not yet in faith regarding that matter. Therefore, having prayed your desire, you need to interact with the Word. That is why real faith starts in the place of prayer and meditation in the Word. So, whatever you desire when you pray, having received a revelation of the Word in your heart concerning that thing, believe that ye receive it, and the result is a physical manifestation of your faith.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my faith is working and potent. I declare the Word as it is revealed to me in my spirit by the Holy Spirit and I have what I say; I cannot be denied!
